SCORPION FISH

The scorpion fish is good at camouflage on rocks. It grows up to about 30 centimetres long.

It lives in the rocky reefs of NSW, Tas, Vic and SA.

The fish has different colours depending on the type and age.

They live alone unless mating and are found along the sand and reefs.

It eats meat like fish or crustaceans such as crab and lobster.

The spines on its back are venomous so don't touch.

They're also known as the 'red rock cod'.

Its eyes are on the top of its head and they're quite big.
